Srinagar: An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 on Richter scale jolted Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday evening, officials said.
Director MeT, said that tremors, measuring 5.9 on Richter scale, were felt for several seconds at around 7:55:51 PM.
He said the epicentre of the earthquake was Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan, (70.66°E 36.39 °N) and depth was 200 Km.
