Budgam: A family in Kanir area of Budgam’s Chadoora area in central Kashmir alleged that it was attacked by miscreants during the dark of the night, Kashmiriyat.co.uk reported.
Quoting Ghulam Hassan Dar Kashmiriyat reported that around 10PM, a non local entered their house using a ladder and attacked the inmates with a sword, leading into injuries to Hassan’s two daughters.
“We were sleeping when i suddenly noticed an absurd loud noise of someone knocking at the door. I went out and checked to find this man (a non-local) inside the house. I tried to hold him, but he used a spray against my eyes and i fell down unconscious,” Ghulam Hassan was quoted by Kashmiriyat as saying.
Ghulam Hassan said that the man was slamming at the door in which the family’s female members were sleeping. “When they opened the door, he swung a sword and attacked them, two of them were injured in the attack,” Ghulam Hassan said, tha father of the injured girls said.
All of the female members ran after him, but he somehow managed to escape leaving behind his sword, his cellphone and other possessions he had brought along that include a poison, a sword, a can of petrol among others.
He said that the accused had been working as a labourer in the area during the last year, during which he created troubles for his daughters after which the family also filed a case of harassment against the accused.
Ghulam Hassan Dar said that the accused didn’t come back to Budgam, but he was in working in other districts of Kashmir valley for a long time and yesterday he suddenly attacked the family.
A police official speaking to The Kashmiriyat confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the accused for lurking trespass.
Section 457 of the Indian Penal Code concerns lurking house-trespass which is defined in section 443.
He said that an FIR number 14/2023 has been registered in this regard.
