Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has announced the first day of Muharram after the crescent moon was sighted on Saturday, July 6.
The new Islamic year will commence in the Kingdom on Sunday, July 7, the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia announced in a statement.
The Crescent committee decides that today, Saturday will complete the month of Dhul Hijjah for the year 1445 AH, and Sunday, corresponding to 7th July 2024, is the beginning of the month of Muharram for the year 1446 AH.
