Qazigund: In a heartbreaking incident on Wednesday evening, a three-year-old boy was mauled to death by a leopard in Qazigund village, located in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials confirmed.
The child, identified as Sehran Manzoor Bumla, son of Manzoor Ahmad Bumla, was taken from his home earlier in the evening. After a coordinated search involving the police, civil administration, and wildlife department, his half-eaten body was tragically discovered.
Imtiyaz Naik, Wildlife Incharge for Kulgam, confirmed the fatal attack. “Unfortunately, we have found his body. He was taken by a man-eater leopard this evening,” Naik told Kashmir Newsville.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, intensifying concerns over increasing wildlife encounters in residential areas.
