Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police on Tuesday urged motorists with pending traffic challans to clear their dues without delay, warning that strict action will follow for non-compliance.
The order reads that many vehicles in the Kashmir Valley continue to operate with unpaid challans on the Parivahan platform and Virtual Court portals.
“Despite repeated appeals to the public and vehicle owners to settle these fines, compliance has been minimal, with the number of unpaid challans remaining steady or even increasing.”
The Traffic Police have now directed all vehicle owners and drivers with outstanding challans to pay the fines by 14 December 2024.
Payments can be made online or at the Lok Adalat benches at the District Court, Srinagar. Failure to comply will result in strict legal action starting December 16 2024, which may include vehicle seizure and the suspension of related documents such as Registration Certificates, Fitness Certificates, and Permits.
