Awantipora: The Centre for Vocational Studies at the Islamic University of Science & Technology organized a free medical diagnostic camp for university employees at the campus today.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than one hundred registrations from university employees, the majority of whom underwent a variety of baseline medical tests.
The camp was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Romshoo, who stressed the need for conducting such programs and medical camps on and outside the campus on a regular basis as people experience stress due to heavy workloads.He added that events like this serve the essential purpose of community outreach programmes where our primary goal is to create opportunities to develop productive linkages with society.
The sample collection and subsequent processing were conducted by the students of Medical Lab and Molecular Diagnostic Technology under the supervision of the faculty members from the Centre. Diagnostic tests including KFT, LFT, Blood Sugar, lipid profile and CBC were performed.
Dean Academic Affairs, Dean Health Sciences, Registrar, Finance Officer, Coordinator BVoc, and others were present during the camp. The university employees lauded this initiative taken by the School of Health Sciences under the leadership of Prof. Ayub Qadri, Dean School of Health Sciences.
