Srinagar: The first batch of pilgrims arrived from Saudi Arabia at Srinagar International Airport on Tuesday after performing Hajj 2023, officials said.
As many as 630 pilgrims arrived in Srinagar on Tuesday. The return Haj flights from Saudi Arabia to Srinagar will operate till August 2.
All pilgrims from different districts of the union territory will first land at the Srinagar airport and then leave for their homes.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Members of Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah and Hasnain Masoodi, and senior police and civil officials received the Hajj pilgrims at the Srinagar International Airport.
A large number of relatives were also present at the Airport to receive their kith and kin after performing the Hajj pilgrimage.
Authorities have made elaborate arrangements at the Srinagar International Airport regarding various issues relating to the arrival of Hajj pilgrims.
A total of 12,067 pilgrims, including 6,698 men and 5,369 women, performed Hajj this year. Additionally, 111 women without Mahram also performed the Hajj this year.
