Srinagar: An elderly man was charred to death in a fire incident in Jamalata Nawakadal area of Central Kashmir Srinagar district on Thursday evening officials said.
They told the news agency Kashmir Scroll that a fire broke out in a residential house in Nawakadal area of Srinagar and it engulfed nearby houses.
They said that soon after the incident, fire tenders, police and locals rushed to the spot and tried to douse off flames.
They said that in the incident one house owner was identified as Bashir Ahmad was found dead.
Meanwhile efforts are on to douse off flames.
