SRINAGAR: A 27-year-old man died midway in the Sekidafar area of Srinagar, with locals claiming that the patient couldn’t reach the hospital in time due to a massive traffic jam.
Locals alleged that Jahangir Ahmad (27), a resident of Narwara area, had been suffering from neurological issues for the last couple of months. However, his condition deteriorated Thursday afternoon.
“His family members immediately attempted to shift him to SMHS hospital, but due to a traffic jam in the Sekidafar area, the vehicle got stuck. Despite hectic efforts by the local police, the patient couldn’t reach the hospital in time and died midway,” they alleged.
They also commended the role of Safakadal police in clearing the traffic, but lamented that due to the traffic congestion, the patient couldn’t be saved.
Local residents urged the authorities to monitor traffic congestion in the city to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future—(KNO)
