Kulgam: Two militants were killed on Tuesday in an encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in Redwani Payeen village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday evening.
Quoting official sources, news agency— Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reported that a joint team of Police, Army’s 1 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area late last night.
They said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated to, triggering an encounter.
An official said that two militants have been killed and their bodies have been retrieved as well.
The search operation is still going on, he said.
