Srinagar: An encounter erupted between militants and security forces in the Khanyar area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Saturday morning, officials said.
A senior police official told Kashmir Newsville that a search operation was launched in the area following intelligence inputs indicating the presence of militants.
“As forces approached the suspected location, hiding militants opened fire, triggering an encounter,” the official said.
He further added, “The exchange of fire is ongoing, and further details will be shared accordingly.”
