Dubai: For the first time in 41 years, India and Pakistan will face each other in an Asia Cup Final. While the men in blue were the first to qualify, their arch-rivals made it on Thursday night. Despite a horrendous performance Salman Ali Agha and his men stunned Bangladesh with a 20-run win.
India had already booked their place in the summit clash a day earlier, on September 24, after defeating Bangladesh by 41 runs. India have been the most dominant side in the tournament, going unbeaten so far, including two wins against arch-rivals Pakistan in the group stage and Super 4s.
Taking into account the simmering off-field tension between India and Pakistan, no one would be more happier than the Asian Cricket Council and the tournament’s official broadcasters, who would be laughing their way to the bank after Bangladesh made a hash of their chase.
The final will take place in Dubai on Sunday.
