Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday announced the results of the annual regular examinations for Classes 10 and 12, recording an overall pass percentage of 85 percent for Class 10 and 84 percent for Class 12.
JKBOSE officials said that more than 94,000 students appeared in the Class 10 examinations, which commenced on November 3.
The board had set up 994 examination centres across the Kashmir Division for the conduct of the tests.
For Class 12, officials said that 84 percent of students successfully cleared the annual regular examinations.
Pertinently, JKBOSE had announced a 15 percent syllabus relaxation for students of Classes 10, 11 and 12 for the 2025 annual regular examinations.
According to a notification issued by the Director Academics, the decision was taken following recommendations from the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ), and other stakeholders, citing delayed commencement of the academic session and disruptions caused by heatwaves, torrential rains, cloudbursts and floods.
“As approved by the competent authority, it is notified that the prospective eligible students appearing in Classes 10th, 11th and 12th in the ensuing annual regular, 2025 examinations in the Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of the Jammu Division, including the UT of Ladakh, shall attempt 85 percent marks corresponding to 100 percent marks, thus availing 15 percent relaxation in syllabus,” reads the notification.
