CIK Arrests Youth Trying To Join Militant Group In Budgam

Budgam: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) Thursday arrested an individual trying to join militnat ranks in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

A statement issued in this regard reads that on April 29, an input was received from reliable sources that militant outfit Ansar Gazwat-Ul-Hind is trying to re-establish its base and revive its cadres in Kashmir.

The statement reads that in furtherance to this conspiracy, a Pakistan based terror handler of AuGH identified as Hamzah alias Gazi has been learnt brainwashing Kashmiri youth to join militant ranks.

“It was further learnt that AuGH has brainwashed and cultivated few committed hybrid OGWs in Kashmir and these OGWs in connivance are planning a militant recruitment drive in the Valley,” it reads.

It added that the input was further developed technically and one individual namely Waseem Ahmad Sheikh of Beerwah was identified on ground and was accordingly detained for questioning. During preliminary investigation it was revealed that he was in constant touch with the handlers through virtual mode and was about to join the militant outfit by forming a new group.”

“During preliminary investigation it was revealed that he was in constant touch with Pak based militant handlers through virtual mode identified as aliases Zakir Bhai, Sulfe Bhai, Gazee Hams, Nisar Kaloch, Rizwaan Baie, Ansar Bhai,Wahid Baie, Hyder Bhai and Saifulla Baie and was about to join AuGH militant outfit by forming a new group.

It was further revealed that the Pak based militant commander had assured him of supplying arms /ammunitions for him and his group in coming days.”

It reads that investigation further revealed that he was a part of many WhatsApp and Telegram groups associated with militant outfits. “Further investigation is on to identify other members of such groups to take legal actions against them.”
