Srinagar: An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in the Ishbar Harwan area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Sunday morning.
A senior police officer informed Kashmir Newsville that a joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of militants in the area.
As the joint teams advanced towards the suspected location, the hiding militants opened fire, prompting a swift retaliation by the security forces and sparking an encounter.
It is reported that two to three militants are currently trapped in the area.
