Srinagar: Amid growing speculation and public concern over the installation of water meters, Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Kashmir, Bharam Jyoti Sharma, has clarified that no such plans are currently in place.
Addressing the rumors, Sharma stated, “We have no plans to install smart meters in Kashmir, and no directions have been issued regarding this matter.”
Responding to concerns about potential installations in commercial establishments, he added, “Whenever we receive official directions, meters will be installed in commercial establishments first. However, as of now, no such decision has been made.”
The clarification aims to put an end to the ongoing confusion and reassure residents about the current status of water metering in the region.
