Islamabad: The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on Friday that the Ramadan moon was not sighted anywhere in Pakistan. As a result, the first fast of the holy month will be observed on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, speaking to the media in Peshawar, stated that zonal committees were set up across the country to receive moon sighting testimonies. However, no credible reports were received.
“After reaching a consensus, it was decided that Ramadan will begin on Sunday,” he confirmed.
However, Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries will begin fasting from Saturday as the crescent moon has been sighted there.
