Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) and Kashmir University have confirmed that all scheduled examinations will be conducted as planned despite ongoing weather conditions.
Controller of Examinations, Dr. Majid Zaman said that Kashmir University exams scheduled for today will proceed as per schedule. Similarly, a JKBOSE official stated that the class 11th examination in soft zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir will also take place as planned.
The official clarified that no examinations were scheduled for hard zone areas today. He further added that postponing the exam at this stage was not feasible, as informing all examination centers on short notice would be difficult.
However, students unable to reach their exam centers due to snowfall will be accommodated on an alternative date during the exams for hard zone areas. “No student will suffer. If anyone misses today’s exam due to weather conditions, they will be given a chance to write it when the same paper is conducted in hard zones,” the official assured.
Additionally, students from higher reaches affected by heavy snowfall can submit an application for rescheduling their exam.
It is noteworthy that Jammu and Kashmir’s higher reaches have witnessed heavy snowfall, while the plains of Kashmir experienced light snowfall over the past 24 hours.
