Srinagar: Schools in Kashmir re-opened on Friday after remaining closed for almost three months on account of winter vacations.
The schools were scheduled to reopen on March 1 but the government extended the vacations by a week due to inclement weather.
Officials said around 10,000 government and private-run schools across the Kashmir valley reopened this morning and resumed their academic activities.
Meanwhile, the authorities in Gurez valley, in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, have extended winter vacation for all schools till March 8 in wake of heavy snowfall and weather conditions there.
