Srinagar: A wall collapsed in the parking area of JLNM Hospital in Srinagar’s Rainawari on Saturday, damaging several vehicles.
Eyewitnesses attributed the collapse to continuous rainfall, which had weakened the structure. “There was a loud crash, and within moments, the wall came down, crushing several parked vehicles,” said a hospital visitor.
Owners of the damaged vehicles expressed anger over the incident, blaming poor maintenance and structural negligence. “This could have been a disaster if anyone had been inside a vehicle at that moment. Authorities must take such issues seriously before a tragedy occurs,” said an aggrieved car owner.
Officials from the hospital administration and local authorities arrived at the scene to assess the damage.
With persistent rains lashing the Valley, concerns are mounting over the stability of aging structures. Locals have urged authorities to conduct safety audits to prevent similar incidents.(KNT)
