Handwara: A fierce Gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Krumbhoora area of Zachaldara in North Kashmir’s Handwara on Monday.
An official said a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation at Krumboora forest area of Zachaldara, Rajwar in Police district Handwara this morning.
“As the security forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces which was retaliated triggering a gunfight,” the official added.
In the ensuing gunfight, he said, an unidentified militant was killed. The gunfight was on when this report was filed.
