Srinagar: The government on Thursday announced that all private and government schools across Kashmir will reopen on Monday.
In its order, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) said the decision was taken in view of the recent floods, inclement weather, and gusty winds that submerged several school buildings and caused damage to some structures.
The directorate said it is necessary to ensure the safety of school premises before resuming classwork.
“Accordingly, the classwork in all government as well as private schools in the Kashmir Division shall commence from Monday,” the order reads.
The director also directed all Heads of Institutions and staff to carry out proper cleanliness and sanitization of classrooms and premises in advance to ensure a safe and hassle-free environment for students.
Meanwhile, the Director Colleges J&K has also directed degree colleges across the Union Territory to reopen on Monday, citing precautionary measures for the safety and security of students.
