Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Saturday announced a 15 percent relaxation in syllabus for Classes 10, 11 and 12.
According to a notification issued by the Director Academics, the decision follows recommendations from the Directors of School Education, Kashmir and Jammu, and requests from various stakeholders. The relaxation was granted due to the delayed start of the academic session and frequent disruptions caused by heatwaves, torrential rains, cloudbursts and floods.
“As approved by the competent authority, students appearing in Class 10, 11 and 12 annual regular examinations 2025 in Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of Jammu Division, including the UT of Ladakh, shall attempt 85 percent of the marks corresponding to 100 percent, thereby availing 15 percent relaxation in syllabus,” the notification said.
However, the board clarified that question papers will be set from the complete syllabus, and students will be required to attempt any 85 percent of the marks within the provided internal choices.
“Each Multiple Choice Question will be evaluated individually, and the same pattern will apply to the grammar section in language subjects,” it added.
