14-Day Summer Break Announced for Kashmir Schools from July 6

Early Summer Break Likely As Temperatures Soar

Srinagar: Amid the ongoing heatwave in the Valley, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) on Tuesday announced summer vacations for all schools across Kashmir division.

Director School Education Kashmir, Naseer Ahmad Wani said that the vacations will be observed from July 6 to July 19, 2026, both days inclusive.

The decision comes as temperatures continue to remain above normal in most parts of Kashmir, prompting demands from parents and students for early summer break.

The order will be applicable to all government as well as private schools falling under Kashmir division.
