Udhampur: An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in village Jopher, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramnagar in Udhampur district.
Oficials said that an encounter broke out during a joint search operation launched by the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and other security forces.
“Contact was established with the hiding militants, leading to a fierce exchange of fire,” the officials said.
Initial reports suggest that 2 to 3 militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
The operation is underway, and additional reinforcements have been rushed to the spot.
