Srinagar: Amid inclement weather conditions, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday announced the closure of all educational institutions across the Union Territory for Thursday.
Health and Education Minister Sakeena Itoo said that all schools and colleges in Jammu and Kashmir shall remain closed on Thursday as a precautionary measure.
The decision has been taken in view of the continuous heavy rainfall that has triggered flood-like conditions across the region. Water levels in the Jhelum and several other streams have crossed the flood declaration mark in Kashmir, while rivers in the Jammu division are flowing above the danger mark.
