Ahmedabad: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated the Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
Chasing 155, Kohli stayed not out at 75 to help take Bengaluru over the finishing line. RCB have thus become only the third team after Chennai Super Kings (2010, 2011) and Mumbai Indians (2019, 2020) to successfully defend their IPL title.
RCB opted to bowl first after winning the toss and produced a cohesive effort to restrict GT to a middling score on a batting-friendly surface.

It took them 18 years to win their first title, but Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) took no time in becoming only the third team to successfully defend it.
Their seam bowlers made superb use of a slightly sticky surface after Rajat Patidar won the toss, restricting Gujarat Titans (GT), who were in their third final in five years of their existence, to 155, the exact same score RCB managed in the league match against the seam team in the same ground on the same pitch No. 6 bang in the middle of the square.
Brief Score:
Royal Challengers Bengaluru 161 for 5 (Kohli 75*, Jitesh 11*, Rashid 2-25) beat Gujarat Titans 155 for 8 (Washington 50*, Salam 3-27, Bhuvneshwar 2-29) by five wickets.
