Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Thursday said that water levels at Sangam and Ram Munshi Bagh are receding but continue to stay above the danger mark, requiring continued caution.
In a post on X, Garg said preventive evacuation has been started in Shalina, Rakh Shalina, Seerbagh and Summerbugh areas of Budgam, which were affected by a Jhelum embankment breach near Zoonipora. A similar advisory has been issued for Lasjan, Soiteng, Nowgam, Vyethpora, Padshahibagh and Mehjoornagar areas of Srinagar.
According to officials, 11 rescue teams comprising Revenue, Police, NDRF and SDRF personnel are assisting people in the affected areas. The Div Com appealed to citizens to stay calm and follow advisories issued by district administrations.
